Converting a client's Wella formula into L'Oréal? The Shade Library matches shades by verified depth and ordered reflects, not by the number printed on the tube. Here's how the two ranges line up.
Wella and L'Oréal levels line up, but their reflect structures don't always. Only 48 of 190 Wella shades have a L'Oréal shade with the same depth and the same reflects in the same order. For the other 142, the nearest L'Oréal shade changes the result, and knowing that before you mix saves a correction.
The straightforward ones: standard natural shades where both brands print the same level. Any chart gets these right.
