Converting a client's Wella formula into Redken? The Shade Library matches shades by verified depth and ordered reflects, not by the number printed on the tube. Here's how the two ranges line up.
Wella and Redken levels line up, but their reflect structures don't always. Only 54 of 190 Wella shades have a Redken shade with the same depth and the same reflects in the same order. For the other 136, the nearest Redken shade changes the result, and knowing that before you mix saves a correction.
The straightforward ones: standard natural shades where both brands print the same level. Any chart gets these right.
